Well, this was pretty much the perfect evening spent with perfect people…. although I’m pretty sure we could have done with the heat and humidity! It was a hot one, but that didn’t stop us from having a super visit and creating some beautiful memories for this family. This family means a lot to me mainly because of how wonderful they are but also because of how long I have known them and have been photographing their journey. It started with their wedding in Cuba which was a blast and carried onwards into the adventures of parenthood.
Behind my lens, I’m pretty fortunate to watch people grow. The funny part is that while yes, they know their life is changing with a growing family, I get to see a different side of things. The evolution, if you will. In this case, I got to meet these two as they became a married unit, and then through the beauty of becoming parents, juggling life with work and a baby and everything that goes into a busy family life. Once again, their family soon grows by one and more changes will take place, and I couldn’t be happier for them.
When Mum-to-be requested a maternity and family session at a Sunflower field, I immediately had the perfect vision of how I wanted to photograph this for them. The love they share with their daughter (who is smart as can be!) is beyond evident and I know their new baby will be equally loved. It’s amazing watching love grow! We met at Sunrise Sunflower field which is in-between Guelph and Hamilton. It was so beautiful and the owner was kind and gracious, and I send a very big thank you to them for providing such a beautiful location for people to enjoy.
I am the lucky one here for so many reasons. Firstly, I feel fortunate to know these amazing people, but secondly that I get to be the one to capture so many of these precious life moments that tell a part of their story together. I love recording a moment in time that has the chance to become celebrated for years to come and will hopefully be passed down and looked upon with love.
I can’t wait to meet their sweet new addition and make even more memories for this loving family.
