Planned to perfection and so much fun! This theme was a custom set design by request by Mum and Dad who reached out this summer to book and start planning their little man’s first birthday milestone! It was an honour to work with them, especially since they don’t live in Kitchener/Waterloo and were willing to make the drive all the way to visit the studio and make some magic together!
Everything was custom for this little champion. His outfit was designed and made perfectly by https://www.instagram.com/liljsboutique/ Mum planned and worked with the baker for the perfect cake to match, and of course, the set design was by moi! 🙂
The entire session went so smoothly. Because Mum and I had been in contact so much leading up to the session, it felt like I knew her for years despite this being our first session together. It was a family affair, with Dad and big brother there to help celebrate this special milestone. You only turn 1 once, so we made it a party complete with Memphis’ favourite music. He was So heckin’ cute. As soon as his favourite song came on, he was literally dancing and bopping to the music. My heart was bursting. This birthday boy is truly as cute as they come with lots of big smiles and shiny eyes. This babe has about a thousand expressions during his session…. I loved how lively and expressive he was! I think he knew this was especially for him, and that we were there to celebrate with him.
One special feature that made Memphis’ cake smash session extra unique was switching up the traditional bubble bath at the end to a fruit bath. This boy LOVES his fruit. We went with lemons and blackberries to keep with our colour pallet. It was so adorable to watch him munch on the lemons, sometimes barely reacting to how sour they are! lol When Mum said he loves fruit, she meant he reallllyyy loves fruit.
I’m beyond thrilled with this whole session and loved every minute with this whole family. Truly some of the nicest people ever and I feel lucky to have been the one they chose for this very special occasion. They received a whopper of a gallery full of the cutest memories that the whole family will be able to enjoy for years as Memphis continues to grow into the smart and beautiful little man he is.
